What is the hottest seller right now? Shades, blinds or drapes?
All orders at The Shade Store are completely custom, and our clients like a little bit of everything. With that being said, our roller shades are always popular, especially when layered with other treatments. The rollers are offered in a range of materials, from light-filtering for privacy, solar for UV protection, or blackout, for rooms that need total darkness. For rooms that need a little bit of both, we suggest pairing a light filtering roller shade with a blackout Roman shade or drapery panels on top.
What style of fabrics are clients looking for right now?
The Shade Store offers more than 1500 materials, so there is a pattern (or solid!) for everyone. The styles we see our clients responding to the most are clean and contemporary, mostly in neutrals as well as cool colors like blue and grey, with a small-scale pattern or texture for visual interest.
What is your favorite hardware for drapes?
Our motorization technology has been a game-changer. The units are color matched, and offered as battery or plug-in, and the motors are powerful and quiet.
What is your newest collection and what differentiates it from all of the others?
The Zen Roller collection is based on Shoji screens, which in Japanese architecture, function as room or window dividers. The unique material is made from wood or bamboo lattice lined with thin, translucent paper made from delicate materials such as papyrus or rice paper. The translucent material looks beautiful on a window, but the material is quite durable.
