What inspires you the most?
To be honest, it’s people who work hard and beat the odds. Winston Churchill is a personal hero.

How do you cultivate good people?
I believe that good people find each other and stick together. We have an innate sense of who we fit with and who we don’t, and I trust my gut when hiring someone. The resumé counts for a lot but the personality is everything. At Christopher Peacock, I believe we trust each other and believe in each other’s abilities to do the job well. We run a large business with a relatively small staff and I think that’s because of the loyalty and trust that exists amongst the team.

What do you want people to know about the products you make?
That they are honest, beautifully made and original. Over our 26- year history we have created products that are very special and we are proud of our achievements. We literally send our cabinetry across the globe and yet we still feel like a small personal company. There are a hundred guys out there who try to copy us, knock off our ideas and promise the world for less and one thing we know for sure is that you get what you pay for. We have remained at the top of our industry for good reason.

How important is a sense of community?
It’s everything to me. In this day and age, more than ever, we need to take care of our own, spread good karma and give more. We need to stick together and help each other.

What does a kitchen mean to you?
It means “home” to me. It’s where we laugh, cry, relax, and congregate each day. No other room in the house makes you feel that way. The kitchen has become the living room that we cook in.
